Not so Fast on Blaming the Wisconsin Law Officer For Gunning Down Jacob Blake…A New Video has Appeared

The liberal media is quick to pounce on any alleged infraction by law enforcement officers. Without waiting for the entire story to properly unfold they immediately condemn anyone wearing a blue uniform. It was their fault.

Such is the case of Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man who was shot point-blank in the back when officers in Kenosha, Wisconsin, responded to a domestic violence call. Apparently Blake was having an argument with two women but the nature of the conflict is not as yet known.

Not only did the media negatively and prematurely respond, but by doing so they caused a major riot to erupt in the otherwise peaceful city. Blake has undergone surgery and is currently listed in stable condition, but at this time, this is all that is known.

When the initial video photo was viewed, it showed Blake not responding to police commands. Even with their weapons drawn, he ignored them as he walked to the driver’s side of his SUV and leaned in. The officers were uncertain if Blake was reaching for a weapon or if his intent was to jump into the vehicle and flee the scene.

Being faced with this scenario, and not certain if their lives were in danger, the police responded accordingly, just as they would have done regardless of the victim’s race or color.

Because the driver’s side door was open it obscured what was actually going down, but the sound of gunfire was heard as the one officer fired his weapon.

But now a new video has emerged which was taken from a different angle, and it paints an entirely different picture. It appears Blake was involved in a wrestling match with two of the officers as they attempted to subdue the man by physical means only.

Once Blake managed to break free from the officers, he then ran to the SUV, leaned in, and appeared to be reaching for something. This of course placed the officers on high alert.

Jacob Blake was no stranger to crime. On July 6 of this year, he was arrested and charged with sexual assault, trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

Wisconsin’s Democrat Governor, Tony Evers, just like the media had done, was quick to condemn the officers involved without having any knowledge of the full story. Rather than standing with his local law officers, he instead took the side of the victim.

Evers released this statement on his Twitter account. “While we do not have all of the details yet, what we know for certain is that he is not the first Black man or person to have been shot or injured or mercilessly killed at the hands of individuals in law enforcement in our state or our country.”

But Evers did not stop there. He then tweeted, “We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equity, and accountability for Black lives in our country—lives like those of George Floyd, of Breonna Taylor, Tony Robinson, Dontre Hamilton, Ernest Lacy, and Sylville Smith.”

The president of the Kenosha Professional Police Association, Pete Deates, wasn’t having it and issued his own statement. “Anytime deadly force is used, our hearts go out to those affected by it. We assure you an independent investigation is being conducted by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation.”

Deates then reprimanded the Governor. “Until that investigation is completed, we ask that you withhold prejudgment about the incident and please the let process take place. Governor Evers’ statement on the incident was wholly irresponsible and not reflective of the hardworking members of the law enforcement community, not to mention the citizens of the City of Kenosha.”

“As always, the video currently circulating does not capture all the intricacies of a highly dynamic incident. We ask that you withhold from passing judgment until all the facts are known and released.  We, along with the citizens of the great City of Kenosha, ask for peace and to let the process play out fairly and impartially.”

Until the investigation is complete, and all of the evidence is completely reviewed, it’s impossible to say if the trigger pulling officer was at fault. But things like this don’t matter to the media, and they certainly don’t matter to the Democrat Governor.

There are always two sides, and from what we can tell so far, perhaps the guy with a criminal record deserves closer observation than the police who were simply doing their jobs and protecting themselves in the process.

Yes. Blue lives do matter.
