Vice President Mike Pence stepped up to the plate by receiving a Covid-19 vaccination, live on a major TV network. He did so as a show of good faith, hopeful the general public may follow suit.
But Pence had to have some assurances before agreeing to this, and his concerns had nothing to do with the safety of the vaccine. Pence and his entire family are strong people of faith so he had to make darn certain that aborted baby cells were nowhere to be found in the mixture, as have been routinely used in the production of many other common vaccines in the past.
Pro-life doctors and organizations lobbied for a vaccine that was void of these cells and both Pfizer and Moderna heeded their calls. Pence did not receive an injection derived from aborted baby cells. Both vaccines have been certified as being dead baby cell free.
The White House announced that Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence publicly received a COVID-19 vaccine to promote the safety and efficacy of the vaccine and build confidence among the American people. Vice President Pence and Second Lady Pence were joined by Surgeon General Jerome Adams, who also received the vaccine. This event took place at the White House.
Using aborted baby cells in the production of vaccines is nothing new. Knowing this, four pro-life medical groups did their homework to see if this was the case with either of the new vaccines.
The Catholic Medical Association, along with the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American College of Pediatricians, and the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, all certified that these types of cells were not used by either company during their production phases.
The pro-life groups involved in the investigation said that while “it is true that the animal-phase testing for these vaccines used abortion-derived fetal cells, commendably, it does not appear that production methods utilized such cells.”
The pro-life medical groups agreed that it is never their intent to prevent or even slow the development of new life-saving vaccines. But, there are ethical alternatives to using aborted baby cells. Identical results can be attained by using umbilical cord tissue and/or adult stem cells from actual live humans, no death required.
They said that many manufacturers of the common vaccines being produced today have gotten away from using “abortion-derived fetal cell lines for their production.” But some still haven’t, so the VP of the U.S. had to know for certain before agreeing to roll up his sleeve.
The group went on to say, “These and other ethical approaches provide encouragement for the future, where no vaccine will violate the dignity of human life in their production.”
“It is profoundly important to recognize the vaccines that may have been developed with the use of abortion-derived fetal cell lines. This awareness is necessary from the perspective of both the health care professional and the patient, and every participant in this process deserves to know the source of the vaccine used to allow them to follow their moral conscience.”
Five of the 17 research groups experimenting with new coronavirus vaccines refuse to follow moral and ethical standards by continuing their usage of aborted baby cells. Three of the five include the prestigious University of Oxford, the University of Pittsburgh, and one you’re certain to love, the all-American apple pie company commonly called Johnson & Johnson.
So while pro-lifers can rest easy in knowing how the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being produced, nobody, without thoroughly checking into the mixture, can be certain about other vaccines or inoculations they receive.
But if the pro-life groups continue with their quest, which with all certainty they will do, perhaps the entire industry will one day be required to use the available ethical approaches and stop their heathen practices.
