Biden is Banning Light Bulbs…

It doesn’t take much to realize that our nation is struggling right now. Inflation is ever on the rise, gas and oil prices are soaring, crime rates are skyrocketing, and immigration, well, it’s a problem that has completely exploded out of control.

But have no fear; Biden and his ilk are here. Of course, they aren’t actually doing anything to fix the above-mentioned issues.

Nope. Instead, they have apparently turned their attention and our hard-earned tax dollars to climate change.

Their latest announcement, and so-called improvement, is to ban old light bulbs.

Yes, you read that right. With all that’s going on in the world right now, Biden is actually banning traditional incandescent light bulbs.

According to a statement put out by Biden’s Department of Energy on Tuesday, two new rules have recently been adopted, both of them working to advance “Biden’s climate goals” and restrict the American public further.

As The New York Times explains, new rule number 1 “establishes a revised definition of general service lamps.” Rule number two “implements a minimum standard of 45 lumens per watt for light bulbs that meet the revised definition.”

Together, the two effectively ban the use of incandescent bulbs and require that Americans buy the supposedly more cost-effective LED light bulbs.

According to the DOE, making the switch to LED will save American families some “$100 every year” or about $3 billion nationally.

As DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm told The Associated Press, “By raising energy efficiency standards for lightbulbs, we’re putting $3 billion back in the pockets of American consumers every year and substantially reducing domestic carbon emissions.”

Additionally, they claim that the newer bulbs are, of course, safe for the environment. And that by demanding their use over incandescent ones, America will soon cut out some 222 million metric tons of carbon emissions over the next 30 years. It is noted that by that time, many American adults will be dead.

But in reality, the switch isn’t nearly as great as the DOE makes it sound.

Sure, LED bulbs do usually last longer than traditional ones. However, they rarely last as long as their packaging states they will. And if you hadn’t noticed, they are considerably more expensive than their older counterparts.

As some Twitter users commented, Americans will most likely end up spending more on the lightbulbs themselves than any supposed energy savings they may receive from them.

Of course, that’s not the most ridiculous part of these new “rules.”

No, that is given to the fact that America and our leaders have much, much bigger things to worry about right now than having our homes and businesses lit with older, traditional, and incandescent light bulbs.

Florida Senator and GOP member made sure to point this out this week, saying, “While inflation is raging, violent criminals rampage across America, and our border is being overrun, Joe Biden is focused on banning old lightbulbs.”

Additionally, it only seeks to place more limitations on a people that are supposed to be free. Instead of trusting us to make the right decisions for ourselves, Biden and his ilk have and, as these new rules prove, still assume that they know what is best for us and make the choice for us.

I mean, what else would you call mask mandates? What about social distancing requirements and vaccine mandates? Or even the rising gas prices that Biden has done nothing about except to suggest that we leave fossil fuels in the dust?

So too are recent comments that imply that teachers have more control over students than their parents. Or that parents should be allowed to change the sex of their children before they even know what sex and gender really are.

They are all moves that would seek to control us in one way or another. And wouldn’t you know that all of them also give the current administration more power and money?

But, based on recent polls and the red wave that’s on the horizon, I don’t think the ball will be in their court for much longer. Hopefully, then we can start to put our nation back together.
