Melania Trump has been very quiet since the riots took place at the Capitol building last week. She has finally broken her silence with a letter to the American people. Melania wants the violence to stop and she wants people to return to peace and civility.
The letter begins with a mention of the pandemic, as well as the effects that it has had on our national psyche.
Those who have passed away and suffered as a result of the Capitol riots were also mentioned. We’ll discuss the rationale behind her words in a bit. Let’s take a closer look at what she had to say.
“With nearly every experience I have had, I found myself carrying many individual’s stories home with me in my heart. Most recently, my heart goes out to Air Force Veteran, Ashli Babbit, Benjamin Philips, Kevin Greeson, Rosanne Boyland, and Capitol Police Officers, Brian Sicknick and Howard Liebengood. I pray for their families’ comfort and strength during this difficult time. I am disappointed and disheartened by what happened last week. I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain,” she began.
Melania was likely spurred to action by Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, a longtime friend of hers. Wolkoff sold her down the river to the Daily Beast, participating in a nasty tell-all piece about the First Lady. She claimed that Melania played a role in the riots and that she was complicit in what had taken place.
“I wish I could say I was shocked by President Trump’s actions, but sadly I can not, or say I don’t comprehend Melania’s silence and inactions, but pathetically, they are both expected. Melania knows how to “Be Best” at standing up and reading from a teleprompter and not from the heart. She and her husband lack character and have no moral compass. Although my intentions to support the first lady in the rollout of her initiatives were always pure, I’m disheartened and ashamed to have worked with Melania,” reads one of the ugliest bits.
Wolkoff was paid handsomely by this administration to handle the inauguration. Maybe she should give the money back since she is so appalled and all. As for Melania, her letter ends with a very simple plea for Americans to stop the violence. She is as tired of the conflict as we are. The First Lady also thanks the nation for providing her with the opportunity of a lifetime.
“It has been the honor of my lifetime to serve as your First Lady. I want to thank the millions of Americans who supported my husband and me over the past 4 years and shown the incredible impact of the American spirit. I am grateful to you all for letting me serve you on platforms which are dear to me. Most importantly, I ask for healing, grace, understanding, and peace for our great Nation.”
This is the sort of dispatch that we would expect from Melania. She’s not like the women who preceded her. Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton were more content to try and put their personal imprint on the presidency. This is not how Melania does things. She is more content to serve as a change of pace from the predecessors.
We have all seen what happens when a First Lady is too worried about her own level of involvement. Melania was never going to waste the time and resources that others have seen to blow through. Hillary Clinton, she’s not. Hopefully, this letter serves as a reminder to her critics that she is her own woman and fully capable of coming to her own conclusions about what has been happening in our country.
